About us ... This association was originally formed in the mid 1980's when a few of the mall managers got together to discuss common security threats and ways to warn each other. 

Attendance progressed to include the marketing managers and leasing managers as well as the security managers. 

The topics of discussion at the meetings include marketing, public relations, security, management, construction, maintenance, leasing, and the economy.

We have taken bus tours to new properties, had wonderful presentations on future developments and the state of the retail market. 

In the past year we have decided to kick it up a notch and bring in sponsors, associates, and other support and service companies.  Call to find out the benefits of sponsorship.

HONORED WITH SASI AWARD

DENVER, Colo. – January 22, 2007 – Outlets of Colorado / Peggy Ziglin were presented with one of the 20 Shop America Salutes Innovation (SASI) awards at the 10th Annual Shop America Tourism Conference held January 15 – 17, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Ziglin is the Public Relations/Tourism Director for Outlets of Colorado (Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland and Outlets at Silverthorne).

Wendy K. Ellis, SCMD

Wendy Ellis has more than fifteen years of commercial real estate experience, primarily in shopping center marketing and management.  Her career also includes retail, office/industrial, master-planned community and hospitality experience. She is a Senior Certified Marketing Director (SCMD) accredited by the International Council of Shopping Centers and received her BS in Commercial Recreation and Tourism with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Utah.  Ms. Ellis also holds a Hospitality Management Certificate from the American Hotel/Motel Association. 

Ms. Ellis has held marketing positions with companies such as General Growth Properties, Koury Corporation, The Richard E. Jacobs Group, Marathon US Realties, and the Hahn Company.  She currently serves as Vice President of Marketing for McWhinney in Loveland, CO.   Her career also includes two terms as President of the North Carolina Council of Shopping Centers.

WELCOME BARBARA BROOKS

Director of Mall Marketing
Town Center at Aurora

Barbara has joined the Town Center at Aurora team in January as the Director of Mall Marketing – a Simon Property.  Barbara’s career coincidentally started with Simon Property Group in 1991 at Ingram Park Mall in San Antonio.  Her shopping center career has taken her to other exciting cities including:  Salt Lake City, Dallas/Fort Worth, Albany and Las Vegas.  Most recently, Barbara sold radio for some of Denver’s hottest radio stations (Alice 105.9 and KS 107.5) and television for 9News/PAX TV. 

Brooks is a graduate of Colorado State University and her hobbies include playing volleyball, vacationing with friends, socializing and volunteering for Children’s Hospital.  She sits on the Events Committee for the hospital and serves as the Events Chair for Fired Up For Kids – an organization the produces the Colorado Firefighter Calendar benefiting the Burn Center at Children’s.
